First Steps : The Next Step - Funeral Arrangements
printer friendly page
The next step to take is to call your Funeral Director. The sooner they are called the sooner they will begin to take care of the multitude of details that are involved and you will find it comforting to know that their services have begun.

It is important to remember that funeral directors are "on-call" twenty-four hours a day and that we should be notified when death occurs. No matter whether we are needed in the middle of the day or sometime during the night, we will respond at once, ready to assist you.

The funeral director will need to obtain the information necessary for the Death Certificate. They will make arrangements for the burial permit, cremation and attend to other necessary details, including notification in the news media on behalf of the family. The funeral arrangements are usually made at the funeral home, although
they can be made at the family's residence, if desired.
